Holland used cars get safer with new crash avoidance system
While much of the auto industry’s focus has been on reducing emissions over the past few years, other automakers are setting their sights on improving safety features that could significantly reduce the chance of an accident. Holland used GMC Acadia owners might be benefiting from new safety features in the coming year, as GMC rolls out a new safety measure that could have a huge impact on the rest of the industry’s decision making. The new safety feature, which will come standard with the Terrain, is a high-resolution camera that warns drivers of impending disasters, both visually and audibly. While safety features have become more advanced over the last decade, the road is still riddled with accidents, some of which are fatal, and GMC’s push into a safer driving experience could help us bring safety to the forefront of the industry. This feature is the first of its kind and only costs about $295 as an add-on.
We’ll hope to see aftermarket options for owners of Holland used cars, but there haven’t been many details on those yet. Still, if this feature is as effective as they expect it to be, there’s no doubt the aftermarket options will come into existence. According to a recent article in Motor Trend, “The crash avoidance system displays solid green ‘vehicle ahead’ and ‘lanes detected’ icons when it senses another vehicle in front of it or lanes painted on the ground. When the system perceives a crash with the vehicle in front a red ‘forward collision alert’ icon flashes and the system sounds a warning beep. If the collision is deemed imminent the system pre-charges the vehicle’s brakes for maximum braking. If the vehicle leaves its lane without the driver signaling the system flashes an amber ‘lane departure warning’ icon and sounds a warning chime. The forward collision alert works at speeds above 25 mph and the lane departure warning works at speeds above 35 mph.”
Used GMC Acadia drivers are lucky to have such a forward-thinking brand backing their cars. With new safety features, Holland used cars should become even more successful than before.
